Rajma Masala – Kidney Beans Curry (Easy Steps)
Garlic 5 cloves
Tamarind 10 gms
Shallots 15 No
Mustard Seeds 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds 1/4 tsp
Red Chillies 2 n.o
Urad Dal 1/2 tsp
Manathakkali Vathal 50 gms
Salt 1 tsp
Curry Leaves 15 n.o
Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
Jeera Powder 2 tsp
Chilli Powder 2 tsp
Asafoetida 1/4th tsp
Oil 2 tbsp
Water 200 ml
Pour Oil in a kadai and heat it for a minute over low flame.
Once the Oil is hot add Mustard Seeds, Fenugreek Seeds, Urad Dal and Red Chillies, Crushed Garlic Cloves and Shallots.
Shallow fry for 2 -3 minutes over medium flame.
Add Manathakkali Vathal and continue shallow frying it for a minute over medium flame.
Add Asafoetida, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder, Red Chilli Powder and washed Curry Leaves.
Mix the spices well in the Kadai and add Tamarind Water.Stir well.
Add the water. Stir well and allow the curry to thicken.
Add Salt and mix well, continue to cook the curry further for a minute over medium flame.
Serve hot along with Steamed Rice.
